PS Plus Extra Confirms Exciting Day One Game for November 2023 Highlights Teardown will be a day one PS Plus Extra game in November, joining the rotating lineup of games available to subscribers, similar to Xbox Game Pass. The addition of Teardown to PS Plus Extra is exciting because of its positive reviews and popularity on PC, indicating that subscribers will enjoy the game when it launches for PS5. PS Plus Premium subscribers will also have access to Teardown, along with additional benefits like classic games from previous PlayStation eras.
Teardown will be a day one PS Plus Extra game when it launches for PS5 on November 15. PS Plus Extra is the middle tier of Sony’s PlayStation Plus service. Unlike the monthly free games offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers by the base PS Plus Essential tier, the games available through PS Plus Extra rotate in and out of availability, functioning more like Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service than anything else.
A key difference between Game Pass and PS Plus Extra is the focus on day one games. Xbox Game Pass releases new day one games on a monthly basis, whereas day one games are rare for PS Plus Extra. That doesn’t mean that PS Plus Extra never gets day one games. On the contrary, some major games have been added to the PS Plus Extra service on day one of their release, including critically-acclaimed games like Stray and Humanity. Soon, PS Plus Extra subscribers will have another exciting day one release to check out.

In a surprise move, Sony has confirmed Teardown as a day one PS Plus Extra game two months before its PS5 launch. Typically, Sony doesn’t reveal the PS Plus Extra games for any given month until halfway through that month, so this announcement was definitely unexpected. For those unfamiliar with Teardown, it’s a puzzle/heist game with a big focus on highly destructible environments.
What makes Teardown’s addition to the PS Plus Extra lineup is how well the game has been received so far. It currently has a respectable 80 overall critic rating, but beyond that, the game has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews from users on Steam. Teardown is plenty popular on PC for good reason, and so it seems that PS Plus Extra subscribers will be in for a treat once it launches for PS5 on November 15.
Of course, it’s worth pointing out that PS Plus Premium subscribers will be able to play Teardown with their subscription as well. PS Plus Premium is the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, and it gives subscribers the most bang for their buck. Those who are signed up for PS Plus Premium not only get everything that’s a part of the PS Plus Essential and Extra tiers, but they are also treated to a selection of classic games from the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP eras. Subscribers will have to wait for November to roll around to find out what classic games may potentially be joining Teardown in that month’s PS Plus Extra/Premium games update.
