Quickly copy chart formats in Excel
Once you create a fantastic looking chart in Microsoft Excel, you may decide that you want to reformat some existing charts to look just like it. Find out how to copy a chart’s format to another chart in five simple steps.
Sometimes, the most time-consuming chores have more to dowith appearance than the actual information you’re working with. For example,let’s say you’ve just created a Microsoft Excel chart that details yourorganization’s first quarter sales for 2005, and you spent a lot of timeformatting it for your presentation.
You like theformat, so you decide to make the other charts in your presentation look likeit. However, you don’t have the time to reformat all 10 charts.
Instead ofreformatting each chart individually, you can copy the format to the othercharts. Follow these steps:
Selectthe chart whose formats you want to copy. Goto Edit | Copy. Selectone of the charts that you want to reformat. Goto Edit | Paste Special. SelectFormats, and click OK.
Repeat this procedure for each chart you want to reformat.
