Disney: Park hopping to start earlier in day in January
Expect more park hopping earlier in the day in 2024. Walt Disney World again plans to loosen up rules around moving between its four theme parks.
Beginning Jan. 9, visitors who pay to add park-hopping powers to their tickets and Disney World annual passholders will no longer have to wait until 2 p.m. to visit a second park.
But annual passholders will still be required to make park-specific reservations and to travel to that park first before hopping along to their next location of the day.
Date-specific, park-specific reservations arrived after the resort’s four-month pandemic shutdown in 2020. Since 2021, park-hopper access has only been available after 2 p.m. daily. In January, Disney World announced that passholders would be able to enter its theme parks after 2 p.m. without holding a reservation, with the exception of Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays.
Disney to offer half-price dining, theme-park tickets for children
In May, Disney said it would introduce “good-to-go” days, select dates when reservations are not required for annual passholders or company employees. Exact dates have not been announced, but the program will start “sometime” in January, according to a post on the official Disney Parks Blog on Wednesday. On days that are not designated as “good-to-go,” passholders will still make reservations for the day or head to the park of their choice after 2 p.m., mirroring the current policy.
Disney World raises prices for annual passes
Jan. 9 also signals the return of the Disney Dining Plan, a prepaid meal option for people staying in Disney World resort hotels. Visitors with reservations for that date or later can add the plan to their experience now.
