New: Community calendar of upcoming events

This is a calendar updated daily of upcoming local events during the coming days provided by the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council, and other contributors. Submissions for events can be sent to [email protected]. They should include the date, time, location, short summary of the event, a website and/or social media page for the event if applicable, if an admission fee is required, and a contact for people to obtain more information. Submissions are not guaranteed of inclusion and may be edited for length or content. The calendar is also published in the print editions of the Juneau Empire, and submissions for those should be received by 9 a.m. Monday for Wednesday’s paper and 9 a.m. Thursday for Saturday’s paper.

Virtual Low Vision Support Group, 1-2:30 p.m., Juneau Senior Center.

The TABI support group is an open space for people with a traumatic and/or acquired brain injury to come together on the third Wednesday of every month. Each month’s topic is different and designed to meet people where they are at. Second Annual Real Talk Walk/Run, 9 a.m.-noon, Airport Trail.

Bartlett Regional Hospital hosts second annual event in support of parenthood issues such as infertility, pregnancy, infant loss, postpartum mental health and motherhood. Event starts at 9 a.m. with a toddler trot and kids half-mile followed by a one-mile walk/5k run. No registration required. T-shirts for the first 30 kids and 30 adults.

Juneau youth ages 14-19 are welcome to join Planned Parenthood and Zach Gordon Youth Center for a three-hour workshop about safer sex practices, accessing healthcare, and more.
